Daniel Bradbury - Pastures

This week, I had the great opportunity to interview Daniel Bradbury from the band Pastures. It was short and sweet, but read below to see what's up!

What is your name and what do you do in Pastures?

Daniel: My name is Daniel Bradbury and I play lead guitar. Sometimes I yodel.

Walmart kid has some competition. What is the local scene like in St. Louis?

Daniel: A mixed bag. It’s incredibly musically diverse and packed with talent so there’s always something new and exciting to listen to. On the flip side it can make the scene feel fragmented and clique-y. As with all things, you have to take the good with the bad.

It's all about balance. The band has a tour soon. What is the thing you're most excited about?

Daniel: How do you even pick one thing? Seeing places I’ve never seen before, hanging out with my friends, ripping gigs, listening to music, all of these things get me stoked.

What is the most difficult thing about being in a bad?

Daniel: Balancing it with the other responsibilities in our lives. Pop punk might be fun but it doesn’t exactly fill our fridges. (Not yet anyway. Fingers crossed.)

Who or what is your inspiration for making music? Daniel: I can’t speak for the rest of the band, but I’m mostly inspired by the plight of the only native North American marsupial, the opossum.

I saw an opossum. It was enlightening. How does one become Pop Punk as fuck?

Daniel: Print button up shirts, skinny jeans, drinking expensive whiskey and listening to Miles Davis.

I'll get on that! If Pastures was an ice cream favor, what would it be?

Daniel: Lavender honey. Or peanut butter cup. Or maybe pistachio. I don’t have synesthesia so this question is really abstract for me.

Well I do have synthesthesia, and I'd have to agree with Lavender Honey!
